South Hopkins Middle School

The 7th and 8th grade girls made a strong showing in the South Hopkins Middle School tournament on Saturday. The 7th grade defeated Todd Co Central 42-32 in their first game In the Semi Final game the 7th graders won a gutty 22-20 win. They trailed 15-13 in the 4th quarter when the Lady Wildcats went on a 9-0 run to lead 22-15 and were able to hold on for a 22-20 win. Molly Cotton lead the scoring with 8 points. Scott had 5, Delaney Hight Leah Burton and Lorelai Sailing had 3 points each. The 7th grade then defeated Todd Co Central 52-17 in the Championship game. Lorelai Sailing lead way with 14 points, Delaney Hight had 11, Emery Scott had 10 points , Leah Burton 9, Molly Cotton 4 and Ann-Michael Riddle added 2 The 7th grade is now 11-0 on the season The 8th grade finished runner up the SHMS tournament. 8th grade won their first game over Todd County Central 59-26. Karoline Riddle had 18, Leah Burton 16, Amelia Smith 10, Jayakah Burt had 4, Jasmine Tandy had 3, Delaney Hight and Impala Johnson had 2 The 8th grade then defeated Muhlenberg County 42-21. Amelia Smith had 21, Karoline Riddle 9, Leah Burton 6, Jayakah Burt, Lorelai Sailing and Jasmine Tandy had 2 points each. The 8th grade lost a hard fought championship game to McLean County 30-28. Amelia Smith had 15, Karoline Riddle 6,Leah Burton 3, Jasmine Tandy and Kate Riddle had 2. The 8th grade record is now 11-2. These girls fought hard and represented South Hopkins Middle School well.
