South Hopkins Middle School

The 7th grade girls team advance to the semi finals with a 41-35 win over Henderson South. Leah Burton lead the way with 15 points. Lorelai Sailing had 14. Molly Cotton, Kate Riddle and Emery Scott had 3 each. Jayakah Burt had 2 and Ann-Michael Riddle had 1. South Hopkins got off to a slow start and trailed 12-7 at the end of the first quarter. The girls came back in the second quarter to outscore Henderson South 13-4 to take a 20-16 lead at the half. Leah Burton had 8 points in the second quarter run Loreali Sailing finished the half with 10 Points. Henderson South got within 30-29 in the 4th quarter when Kate Riddle hit a 3 and then the Lady Wildcat defense got 2 steals and Leah Burton and Emery Scott scored to push the lead up to 37-29. The 7th grade Lady Wildcats will play Union Co in the semifinals on Monday. The 8th grade girls will play James Madison at 11:15 on Saturday. The 7th grade boys will play Henderson South at 10 AM and the 8th grade will play Holy Name at 2 PM. The boys games will be at Webster Co.
